A spreadsheet with a column of web addresses, or a zip of photographs named after their SKUs.
The columns
Your file can name its columns any of the ways shown: the importer matches them whatever their case or spacing. Columns it does not know are left out.
| Column | Also read from | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Image (required)source | image src image url image src url photo file file name | A web address to fetch it from, or — for a zip — the name of the file inside it. |
SKUsku | variant sku item code code article number | Attaches the photograph to that size specifically, so the storefront can switch image when a customer picks it. |
Handlehandle | slug parent sku product handle group id style code | The product, where the photograph is of the garment rather than of one size. One of this or SKU is needed. |
Alt textaltText | image alt text alt alt text image alt | What the photograph shows, for somebody who cannot see it. Worth filling in — it is also what a search engine reads. |
Positionposition | image position sort order order sequence | Lowest first. The first image is the one the shop shows in a listing. |
A template to start from
The template has every column and a few example rows. The examples show the things most often got wrong on a first go.
